A Massachusetts jury weighing murder charges against Lindsay Clancy informed the court for a second time on Wednesday that it remains unable to reach a verdict.
The deadlock came on the panel’s fifth full day of deliberations. Following the note, the judge sent jurors back to continue their discussions after delivering a standard, legally required instruction aimed at urging them to keep working toward a possible resolution.
Clancy, a former labor and delivery nurse, does not dispute strangling her three children inside their Massachusetts home in 2023. Her defense attorney contends that severe postpartum psychosis led directly to her actions. Prosecutors argue that Clancy was fully aware of what she was doing at the time of the killings.
Inside the courtroom, Clancy sat at the defense table and stared directly at the jury with no visible expression. Her parents and sister, seated together in the gallery, showed no outward reaction as the judge addressed the court.
