Kamala Harris Mimics “Mob Boss” Trump In Odd Exchange At New York Convention

Former Vice President Kamala Harris took a direct jab at President Donald Trump’s foreign policy approach on Friday, comparing his diplomatic style to that of a “mob boss” during a sit-down interview with Reverend Al Sharpton.

Speaking at the National Action Network convention in New York City, Harris utilized a vocal impersonation to criticize the current administration’s “America First” doctrine.

The exchange occurred as Harris discussed the shifting landscape of international relations.

“Well, he’s pulled back because, you know, the way that he’s thinking of foreign policy, it seems, is when he talks about America first, it’s to withdraw from these relationships and these connections and then he kind of, Rev, acts like a mob boss,” Harris told Sharpton.

She then attempted to mimic the President’s speaking style to illustrate her point regarding the division of global influence.

“So then he’s kind of like, ‘Well, you know, you take Eastern Europe, I’ll take the Western Hemisphere, and then you over there, you get Asia, and we’ll just divide it up,’” she said. Harris argued that this transactional approach ignores the historical context of American global leadership, which she described as a pillar of the nation’s identity, “imperfect though we have been.”

This public appearance follows a series of high-profile moments for the former Vice President, including her loss to Trump in the 2024 presidential election.

Harris took over the Democratic ticket after President Joe Biden withdrew from the race following his June 2024 debate performance.

Her tenure as Vice President was also marked by a legal dispute involving CBS and the Trump campaign; the network was sued over the editing of a “60 Minutes” interview with Harris, a case that eventually reached a settlement just as Paramount merged with Skydance Entertainment.

While in New York, Harris focused her remarks on the risks she believes the current administration poses to long-standing international alliances.

Critics of the former Vice President have frequently pointed to her rhetorical style during such interviews, while supporters at the convention cheered her characterization of the President’s geopolitical strategy.
