Former Vice President Kamala Harris’ team seemingly quickly changed the name of its rebranded “Headquarters” X handle following widespread online mockery.

On Thursday, Harris announced in a video statement posted to X that “Kamala HQ” — the former social media operation for her failed 2024 presidential campaign — would now be dubbed “Headquarters.” The newly rebranded X account had  the handle “@headquarters_67” Thursday — seemingly in reference to the popular “6-7″ meme — but changed it to “headquarters68_” shortly after, following the original handle being widely panned on social media.

“Counting up until you guys go back to caring about actual things that matter,” Headquarters wrote in a Friday X post in response to another user pointing out the handle name change.

Harris’ Thursday announcement came amid mounting speculation that she will seek a third consecutive White House bid in 2028. Several anonymous Democrats told the Daily Caller on Thursday that they are not completely enthused about Harris’ social media hub rebrand.

“Another account that makes memes! Wow, groundbreaking,” one former Biden-Harris White House staffer told the Daily Caller. “[I] didn’t think she was going to make some presidential announcement this early, but it was telling how ominous it felt. Everyone kind of felt nervous. It’s easier when she’s on the book tour. That’s predictable.”

Additionally, a CNN panel on Thursday blasted the “@headquarters_67” X handle for being “cringe.”

Moreover, Harris wrote in a Substack post on Thursday that “Democrats must improve our ability to convey our message and reach every American — including Gen Z, who are now a larger generation than the Baby Boomers and are one of our greatest assets as we confront the challenges ahead.”

“That is why I have decided to revive my team’s social media operation, KamalaHQ,” she added.
