Katie Couric Covered For RGB’s Harsh Criticism Of Anthem Kneelers By Simply Refusing To Publish What Ginsburg Said

The Cancel Culture came for Jon Gruden this week when previously private emails were leaked to the media, revealing Gruden’s formerly unknown crimes against wokeness.

While the biggest sins committed by Gruden, a former coach of the Las Vegas Raiders and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, involved alleged racial and anti-gay slurs, the recent media accounts of his emails got former NFL player Colin Kapernick trending on social media.

The radical Kaepernick is more famous for being a Social Justice Warrior than a quarterback, as he started the habit of sports figures kneeling for the National Anthem. Gruden, according to the emails, thought such dissenters should be fired – as did former President Donald Trump.

But another prominent figure shared their contempt for the likes of Kaepernick:

The late left-wing U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

The “Notorious RBG,” as her adoring liberal fans liked to call her, actually sounded very Trumpian is calling anthem protesters things like “stupid,” “arrogant,” and “ridiculous,” and suggesting that they were grating ingrates.

Regrettably, the public did not learn this significant nugget of news until Wednesday, more than a year after Ginsburg died, when The Daily Mail reported on an episode revealed in the upcoming memoir of former “Today” host Katie Couric.

Couric interviewed Ginsburg in 2016, as Kaepernick was making his stand – or kneel – against America.

In the book, Couric admits she willfully withheld Ginsburg’s criticism for the one-time San Francisco 49ers’ signal-caller in order to shield her from the hateful liberal mob.

Refusing to stand for the anthem, Ginsburg shared at the time, exhibits “contempt for a government that has made it possible for their parents and grandparents to live a decent life … which they probably could not have lived in the places they came from.”

“As they became older, they realize that this was youthful folly. And that’s why education is important,” Ginsburg further told Couric, per the Daily Mail.

“I think it’s a terrible thing to do, but I wouldn’t lock a person up for doing it. I would point out how ridiculous it seems to me to do such an act,” Ginsburg continued.

Couric, who interviewed the longtime jurist for Yahoo News, wrote that she pressed Ginsburg about the free speech rights of Kaepernick and other protesters.

‘Yes. If they want to be stupid, there’s no law that should be preventive,” Ginsburg added. “If they want to be arrogant, there’s no law that prevents them from that. What I would do is strongly take issue with the point of view that they are expressing when they do that.”

Couric notes in the book that she was “conflicted” about including Ginsburg’s comments on what at the time was arguably the biggest social controversy facing the nation.

She admitted she was a “big RGB fan,” and felt that Ginsburg’s criticism of Kaepernick was “unworthy of a crusader for equality.”

Couric then added that she convinced herself that Ginsburg, at age 83, did not understand the question – even as she was deciding the most complex and contentious legal issues in the country.

Couric’s suspicions were confirmed when the court’s chief spokesperson called to say the justice had “misspoken,” and asked to have those remarks stricken from the article

Accordingly, Couric, showing deference that she would never offer a Republican, as Sarah Palin can attest, obliged the spokesperson.

Motivated by personal politics and hero-worship, she edited the final piece so that Ginsburg’s commented that protesters were simply being “dumb and disrespectful.”

Liberals should tell us again how there is no bias in the news.
