Kelloggs Pride Cereal

Kellogg’s Aims To Teach Your Kids Proper Pronouns, Shows Off Its ‘Pride’ At The Breakfast Table

A few years ago, the London Daily Mail assessed John Harvey Kellogg, the Michigan doctor who worked at a sanitarium and who, with his brother, founded a breakfast cereal empire.

Dr. Kellogg, it seemed, abhorred sexual relations. As the Daily Mail noted, Kellogg was “uncomfortable about sex, believing it was unhealthy for the body, mind, and soul.” He never consummated his marriage, opted for adoption over impregnation, and created his best-known product, Corn Flakes, as a cure for masturbation.

But the modern Kellogg’s company takes quite the opposite view.

In fact, as we begin ‘Pride Month’, your children can find references to sex right on the dining room table each morning.

Kellogg’s recently unveiled a “Together With Pride” cereal, which the company described as a “collaboration” between it and GLAAD, one of the leading gay-rights activist groups in the country.

The cereal comes in a purple box that features the company’s most iconic characters: Tony the Tiger, Toucan Sam and Snap, Crackle and Pop, among others

“LGBTQ+ icons and friends of GLAAD will start their day with the new cereal to celebrate that no matter who you are or who you love, you are too awesome to fit into a (cereal) box,” the company said in a press release.

Based on sales of the cereal, Kellogg’s noted it was donating up to $140,000 to support GLAAD’s efforts in “accelerating acceptance and advancing equality for the LGBTQ+ community.”

“’Boxes are for cereal, not people,’ the company added, “is the embodiment and celebration of Kellogg Company’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, not just within Kellogg Company, but also at the tables of our cereal fans coast to coast. As Kellogg has grown its multiyear allyship with GLAAD, the company hopes to spread the word on allyship and show its support for the transgender and gender-nonconforming communities.”

In the statement, Kellogg General Manager Doug VanDeVelde said, “Our delicious new recipe features berry-flavored, rainbow hearts dusted with edible glitter. We can’t wait for fans to try our latest limited run.”

The release also quoted GLAAD President & CEO Sarah Kate Ellis, who said, “Kellogg’s new Together With Pride cereal will create opportunities for homes and families to have conversations about the importance of acceptance, compassion and understanding, especially when it comes to LGBTQ+ youth.”

“Kellogg is not only building on an ongoing commitment to support the LGBTQ+ community, but initiatives that spotlight the importance of using correct pronouns to create safe and welcoming spaces for trans and nonbinary people,” she added.

The company further added, “Being proud of who you are is not confined to just one month. For the first time, Kellogg has created Together With Pride animated stickers on Instagram and Facebook, letting fans add a little “Pride” to their posts all year long.”

The corporate wokeness continues.
