A terrifying incident unfolded Saturday evening along a highway near London, Kentucky, leaving multiple people shot in what authorities described as an active shooter situation. The gunman remains at large, prompting a massive search operation.
The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office reported that “numerous people were shot” near Interstate 75, about nine miles north of London. The University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington has received at least two victims, with their conditions currently unknown.

Authorities have identified 32-year-old Joseph A. Couch as a person of interest in the shooting. Couch is described as a white male, approximately 5-foot-10 and 154 pounds. The public is urged not to approach him and to contact authorities immediately with any information regarding his whereabouts.
The incident has sparked fear and concern in the local community, with residents advised to stay indoors as the manhunt continues. State and local police are receiving assistance from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms.
