Corey James Jarboe, 30, of Owensboro, Kentucky, was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison on January 27th for attempted online enticement of a minor and attempted transfer of obscene material to a minor. The sentencing follows an investigation by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Bowling Green.
According to court documents, Jarboe used the internet to communicate with an undercover law enforcement officer who he believed to be a 14-year-old girl. During these conversations, Jarboe attempted to entice the minor into engaging in sexual activity and made plans to meet in person for sexual contact.

In addition to his prison sentence, Jarboe was also ordered to serve 10 years of supervised release following his incarceration. There is no parole in the federal system.
The announcement of the sentencing was made by U.S. Attorney Michael A. Bennett of the Western District of Kentucky, Special Agent in Charge Rana Saoud of HSI Nashville, and Commissioner Phillip Burnett, Jr. of the Kentucky State Police.
