MONROE COUNTY, Fla – A 42-year-old Key West man, Patrick Michael Degrand, found himself in hot water on Sunday after allegedly threatening others with a knife. The incident occurred near the golf course fence line along U.S. 1 on Stock Island.
Monroe County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the scene around 3:50 p.m. after receiving reports of a fight. Upon arrival, they found Degrand holding a knife while several other individuals were armed with tree branches. All parties dropped their weapons when law enforcement arrived.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Degrand had brandished the knife and threatened others during a disagreement. He was subsequently arrested and charged with aggravated assault and battery.
