SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. — Two drivers were sent to the hospital early Tuesday morning following a collision at the intersection of Morse Boulevard and County Road 466.
The crash occurred at approximately 7:23 a.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP.
According to a report released by the FHP, a 75-year-old woman from Lady Lake was driving a Toyota Tacoma southbound on Morse Boulevard. Troopers stated that the driver failed to stop for a flashing red traffic signal at the intersection.

As the Tacoma entered the crossing, it collided with a Ford Fusion. The Fusion, driven by a 33-year-old woman from Wildwood, had been traveling eastbound on CR-466 at the time.
Authorities confirmed that both women suffered minor injuries in the wreck and were transported to area hospitals for treatment.
