LAKE WALES, Fla. — What started as a report of a burglary in progress Wednesday afternoon quickly led to the arrest of a Lake Wales man found with a stolen golf cart, a concealed knife, and a stash of pilfered mail.
Joshua Dylan Ware, 33, was taken into custody by Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) deputies near St. Anne Shrine Road east of Lake Wales. Around 1:50 PM, deputies responded to a call regarding a burglary. Upon arrival, they immediately located and detained Ware, who was on a golf cart.

While Ware claimed he was “only borrowing” the golf cart, deputies determined it had been stolen. His troubles didn’t end there; a search revealed he was also carrying a concealed raptor-style knife and 14 pieces of mail belonging to four different individuals.
Ware was transported to the Polk County Jail and faces multiple charges, including Armed Burglary of an Occupied Dwelling, Grand Theft ($750-$5K), Petit Theft (4 counts), and Trespass Property other than Structure.
