Lakeland Man Arrested On Felony Warrant And Meth Charges

Traffic Stop Leads to Discovery of Active Warrant and Illegal Narcotics

LAKELAND, Fla. – A routine traffic stop on Saturday afternoon led to the arrest of a Lakeland man on an active felony warrant, as well as new drug charges.

According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), 40-year-old Matthew Joseph Koscin was arrested after a deputy observed him commit a traffic infraction around 3:48 p.m. on September 20.

The deputy conducted a pedestrian stop, and during the interaction, it was discovered that Koscin had an active felony warrant for burglary out of Hillsborough County.

In addition to the warrant, Koscin was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. He was taken into custody and transported to the Sheriff’s Processing Center.

Koscin faces the outstanding felony charge from Hillsborough County, along with new charges from Polk County for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
