“I Already Know,” Says Driver Before Trying to Flee Polk Deputy
LAKELAND, Fla. – A routine traffic stop on Friday afternoon quickly escalated into an attempted flight from justice for a Lakeland man, who seemingly admitted his offenses before a Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) deputy even had a chance to state them.
At approximately 2:21 PM on Friday, a PCSO deputy initiated a traffic stop on 34-year-old Jacob Bozeman of Lakeland at the intersection of Kathleen Road and Spivey Road. The deputy’s attention was drawn to Bozeman’s vehicle after observing him make not one, but two illegal turns.

Upon being approached by the deputy, Bozeman, without prompting, reportedly stated, “I already know, it’s for me turning,” seemingly acknowledging the traffic infractions.
As the deputy proceeded to run Bozeman’s information, the situation took an unexpected turn. Bozeman allegedly pulled a glass pipe from his pocket, only to look up and realize the deputy was watching his actions. Following this discovery, Bozeman began to walk away from the traffic stop.

The deputy repeatedly ordered Bozeman to stop, with increasing emphasis, but Bozeman defiantly replied, “No,” and continued his attempt to depart the scene. Living up to the adage that “actions speak louder than words,” the deputy physically intervened and apprehended Bozeman.
Jacob Bozeman was subsequently arrested and transported to the Polk County Jail He faces charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Resisting without Violence.
