LAKELAND, Fla. – The holiday season is fast approaching, and the Lakeland Police Department (LPD) is once again asking the community for support as it hosts its 19th annual “Cops for Kids” toy donation drive. Now halfway through November, the campaign is in full swing, aiming to ensure that every child in the community can experience a happy holiday.

The Cops for Kids program, made possible by the generosity of local donors, allows families in need to provide new toys for their children. LPD is currently accepting new, unwrapped toys for children up to 12 years of age.

Community members have several convenient locations to drop off their donations:

  • Lakeland Police Department: 219 N. Massachusetts Avenue
  • City Hall: 228 S Massachusetts Avenue
  • Lakeland Public Libraries:
    • 100 Lake Morton Drive
    • 1700 N. Florida Ave.
    • 4740 S. Florida Ave.

For those who prefer to make a financial contribution, monetary donations are also welcome. Checks or money orders can be mailed to: Att: Crime Prevention Unit, Lakeland Police Department, 219 N Massachusetts Avenue, Lakeland, FL 33801

The deadline for all toy and monetary donations is Saturday, December 6, 2025.

The collected toys will be distributed to parents at the annual Cops for Kids pick-up party scheduled for December. The event will be a celebration for the children, who will have the opportunity to take photos with Santa and enjoy a complimentary dinner.

The Lakeland Police Department encourages residents to embrace the spirit of giving and help make this year’s drive a success for local families.
