LAKELAND, Fla. – A Lakeland woman died early Thursday morning following a single-vehicle crash near the entrance to Interstate 4. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 2:00 AM on April 30, 2026.
State troopers say that the 47-year-old woman was driving a Nissan Maxima westbound on Memorial Boulevard. As she approached the I-4 entrance ramp, she lost control of the sedan and struck a barrier wall.
Investigators confirmed the driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. She sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the crash site.

The Florida Highway Patrol has not released the driver’s identity or further details on what caused her to lose control of the vehicle.
