Lakeland Woman Nabbed On Multiple Fraud Charges After Credit Card Probe

POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A 38-year-old Lakeland woman is behind bars this week following a credit card investigation that spanned local law enforcement agencies. Katherine Francisco was taken into custody on Thursday afternoon after deputies with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office caught up with her at a residence on Leelon Road in northeast Lakeland.

The arrest stemmed from an active warrant filed by the Lakeland Police Department. Investigators with the city’s police force allege that Francisco used another individual’s credit card without authorization.

According to authorities, the investigation into the unauthorized transactions led to a series of felony and misdemeanor charges.

The warrant served to Francisco included counts of criminal use of personal identification, unlawful possession of a credit card, petit theft, a scheme to defraud, and the fraudulent use of a credit card.

Deputies arrived at the Leelon Road home at approximately 2:50 p.m. on April 9th to execute the warrant. Officials reported that the arrest was made without incident.

Following her apprehension, Francisco was transported to the Sheriff’s Processing Center for booking.
