Largo Man Arrested After Parking Lot Dispute Turns Violent In Islamorada

MONROE COUNTY, Fla. – A parking dispute at a popular Islamorada restaurant escalated into violence Sunday evening, leading to the arrest of a Largo, Florida man. Anthony James Joseph, 28, was charged with battery after admitting to repeatedly punching another man.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call at Papa Joe’s Waterfront restaurant at approximately 7:44 p.m. Upon arrival, deputies investigated the incident, which reportedly stemmed from an altercation in the parking lot.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Joseph admitted to striking the 41-year-old male victim multiple times in the head and face with a closed fist. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported by authorities.

Joseph was taken into custody and transported to jail following the incident.
