Deputies with the Major Accident Investigation Team responded to the crash around 4:16 p.m. on August 20, 2026.

According to investigators, 55-year-old Vien Dinh of Sarasota was driving a 2025 Tesla Model 3 northbound on Seminole Boulevard.

Dinh entered the left turn lane to head west onto 53rd Avenue North and turned directly into the path of a southbound 2006 Honda CBR 1000R motorcycle operated by Morgan Svensson.

The turn resulted in a T-bone collision, ejecting Svensson from the motorcycle. Emergency personnel transported Svensson to a local hospital, where medical staff pronounced him dead.

Dinh was not injured and remained at the scene to cooperate with deputies.

Investigators noted that speed appears to have been a factor in the incident. Next of kin has been notified, and the Major Accident Investigation Team continues to investigate the crash.
