PINELLAS PARK, Fla. – A verbal dispute turned violent late Thursday night in Pinellas Park, leaving one man fighting for his life and another behind bars.

Pinellas Park police officers rushed to the 7500 block of 40th Street North around 11:30 PM following reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, they found 31-year-old Jesse Tucker suffering from multiple stab wounds.

According to investigators, the incident began when Tucker and 51-year-old Joseph Lee Green got into an argument.

The disagreement quickly turned physical, ending when Green allegedly pulled out a folding knife and stabbed Tucker several times. Paramedics transported Tucker to a nearby hospital, where medical staff currently list him in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.

Officers located Green at the scene and took him into custody without further incident. During the arrest, police recovered a folding knife from his person, which is believed to be the weapon used in the attack. Records show Green, a resident of St. Petersburg, has been charged with attempted second-degree murder.

The area around 40th Street remained active with investigators through the early morning hours as police processed evidence and interviewed potential witnesses.

While the specific cause of the initial argument has not been released, authorities confirmed that both men were known to each other prior to the altercation. Green is currently being held as the legal process moves forward, and the investigation remains open.
