SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. – A routine check of a local beach parking lot turned into a felony investigation early Monday morning after Sarasota County deputies stumbled upon a parked car well past closing time.
Just after 2:00 a.m. on February 2, deputies patrolling the Manasota Key area noticed a black Toyota Scion sitting in the lot. When they approached the vehicle to investigate, they found 20-year-old Ian J. Inman and a 13-year-old girl inside. According to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, both individuals were unclothed at the time.
As the investigation unfolded at the scene, deputies determined that the two had engaged in sexual activity. Inman, a resident of the area who works as a lifeguard at the North Port Aquatic Center, was taken into custody immediately. He now faces two counts of sexual battery on a minor between the ages of 12 and 18.
