Leading Evangelist Says It ‘Speaks Volumes’ That Biden Left God Out Of National Day Of Prayer Proclamation

One of America’s leading evangelists is suggesting it was not a great idea for President Joe Biden to skip God on the National Day of Prayer.

The Rev. Franklin Graham, son of the late, legendary evangelist Billy Graham, criticized Biden for being the first president in the 70-year history of the event to not refer to God in the White House-issued proclamation.

That would include adding other terms, such as “Creator,” “Maker,” the “Almighty,” Providence,” and so on.

Yet Biden, as the liberal mainstream media assure us, is a “devout” and faithful” Catholic.

“Why would President Biden omit God? Today marks the 70th annual National Day of Prayer, and by law since 1952, a presidential proclamation must be issued for the day. I was deeply saddened to read that President Biden is the first president to omit the word ‘God’ in his proclamation,” Graham wrote in a Facebook post on Thursday.

“That speaks volumes doesn’t it?”

The concluding language of the proclamation does include “the year of our Lord,” but that is customary boilerplate wording for the document.

Graham added, “It is hard to believe we have come this far. Omitting God is a dangerous thing. He is who we as individuals and as a nation need to call on for help.”

“He created us and made salvation possible for us through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. Prayers to anyone or anything else are to no avail. Join me in praying to Almighty God on behalf of our nation,” Graham added.

“Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”

By comparison, former President Donald Trump mentioned God 10 times in his last National Day of Prayer proclamation in 2020, as well as one reference each to “Almighty God” and the “Almighty,” according to an analysis by the conservative website CNSNews.com.

In his three other National Day of Prayer proclamations, Trump recognized God with that term or some other wording, including the great Lord and Ruler of Nations,” a combined total of 19 times, CNSNews.com reported.

This year, though, Biden, in his proclamation, made sure he discussed the current Holy Trinity of the left: “a deadly pandemic,” the “reckoning on racial justice,” and the “existential threat of climate change.”
