TAVARES, Fla. – Danny Baldwin, 53, of Tavares, has been indicted on federal charges of possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon, according to Acting United States Attorney Sara C. Sweeney.
The indictment reveals that Baldwin has a lengthy criminal history, including 12 prior state felony convictions for serious offenses such as second-degree murder, arson, and aggravated assault with a firearm. These convictions prohibit him from possessing firearms and ammunition under federal law.

“An indictment is merely a formal charge that a defendant has committed one or more violations of federal criminal law, and every defendant is presumed innocent unless, and until, proven guilty,” stated the U.S. Attorney’s office.
