Louisiana Sen. John Kennedy: Dems Need To Buy A Spine On Amazon To Fight “High IQ Stupid” Loon Wing

In a candid interview on the Michele Tafoya Podcast, Louisiana Senator John Kennedy delivered a flurry of his signature one-liners, offering his colorful diagnosis of Washington politics, the government shutdown, and the state of the Democratic Party.

The Senator, known for his folksy wit and sharp political commentary, focused much of his conversation on the political shift that led him to switch from the Democratic to the Republican Party.

The reason, he said, was simple, if clichéd: “I didn’t leave the Democratic party, they left me.”

The “Loon Wing” and the Call for a Spine

Kennedy quickly clarified that the national Democratic Party is currently controlled by what he calls its most radical element.

“The Democratic Party is controlled by one of its factions,” Kennedy stated. “I call it the loon wing of the party.”

This faction, he argues, has led the party far from the mainstream, citing examples like their positions on women’s sports and policing. According to Kennedy, many of his Democratic colleagues agree with him but are too afraid to speak up and suggested that more moderate Democrats must “frankly go to Amazon and buy a spine online and say we’ve had enough.”

The Senator reserved his most potent humor for describing the left’s antagonism toward President Donald Trump. He suggested the opposition is so intense, it’s irrational, joking that “If President Trump came out in favor of breathing to live the Moonwing of the Democratic Party would start holding their breath.”

Fixing Washington: Get the Pigs Out

In a serious closing thought on restoring faith in government, Senator Kennedy returned to his brand of common-sense logic, stating that America needs a return to sanity.

He questioned the competence of some of the policymakers in Washington, observing that some appear to have “great degrees and they’re well educated but they’re high IQ stupid people.”

Kennedy concluded with a powerful metaphor for the purification of D.C. politics, making it clear that the solution is to change the personnel: “the water’s not going to clear up until we get the pigs out of the creek.”
