In a multi-agency operation dubbed “Operation Trackside,” Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier announced the arrests of a major drug trafficking ring that had been operating across Palm Beach and Broward counties. The 14-month investigation, led by the Boynton Beach Police Department and a coalition of state and federal partners, resulted in the seizure of a substantial cache of narcotics, cash, and weapons.

The takedown uncovered a large-scale trafficking network dealing in fentanyl, cocaine, and oxycodone. Law enforcement officials seized more than five kilograms of illicit drugs, along with $452,026 in cash, six handguns, two semi-automatic rifles, eleven vehicles, and a boat. The Attorney General’s Office of Statewide Prosecution is charging two dozen individuals in connection with the organization, with five arrests still outstanding.

“Drug traffickers who push poison like cocaine and fentanyl into our communities are profiting off the death of Floridians,” said Attorney General James Uthmeier. “In Florida, the consequences are simple—if you buy or sell illicit drugs, our Statewide Prosecutors will ensure you spend a long time behind bars.”

The investigation began in July 2024 and culminated on September 3, 2025, when law enforcement officers from multiple agencies executed fifteen of seventeen search warrants simultaneously.

The collaborative effort involved the U.S. Marshals Service, Drug Enforcement Administration, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Florida Highway Patrol, Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, Broward County Sheriff’s Office, and police departments from Boca Raton, Delray Beach, West Palm Beach, and Fort Lauderdale.
