TAMPA, Fla. – A 32-year-old man was arrested Wednesday morning following an incident involving two juveniles on their way to school in Tampa, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a 911 call near 15th Street and College Park Drive around 6:49 a.m. on August 12, 2026. Authorities reported that two juveniles riding scooters to school were approached by Quaze Moore, who chased them into a nearby parking lot.
Investigators said Moore exposed himself, performed explicit acts, and grabbed one of the children.
Witnesses at the scene intervened and halted the attack before deputies arrived. Moore was taken into custody and charged with resisting an officer without violence, two counts of lewd or lascivious exhibition by a defendant 18 or older, and lewd or lascivious molestation by a defendant 18 or older involving a victim between 12 and 15 years old.
“These witnesses didn’t hesitate; they stepped up and stopped a predator in the act,” Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a statement following the arrest. “Let me be clear: we will not tolerate adults who prey on children in our community. This kind of behavior will be met with the full force of the law, and offenders will be held fully accountable.”
