WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – A Winter Haven man faces multiple felony charges, including kidnapping and battery on a law enforcement officer, after a disturbance call led to his arrest early Saturday morning.

Brian C. Justice, 45, was taken into custody by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) just after midnight on Saturday, September 13. Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Monterey Drive at approximately 11:55 p.m. in response to a disturbance and battery complaint.

Upon arrival, deputies found Justice in the backyard. According to the PCSO report, Justice appeared intoxicated and admitted to “chest-bumping” the victim. When deputies attempted to identify him, Justice refused and then fled into the house as deputies tried to detain him.

A struggle ensued inside the residence, during which Justice allegedly punched one deputy in the face. Deputies eventually secured Justice in handcuffs after a brief scuffle.
