Detectives in Florida are asking the public for help in identifying a man who violently sucker-punched a shopper outside an Aldi grocery store last Saturday, leaving the victim with serious head injuries.

The attack occurred shortly after 7:20 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, at the Aldi located at 3301 North State Road 7 in Lauderdale Lakes. According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, the victim and the suspect were involved in an argument inside the store. After the dispute, the suspect waited outside for the victim to exit.

Surveillance video shows the victim leaving the store with his dog. Seconds later, the suspect is seen delivering a sucker punch that causes the victim to fall backward and strike his head. The victim sustained significant and serious injuries as a result of the unprovoked attack.

The victim’s family, who has requested to remain anonymous due to the ongoing investigation and the nature of the assault, is making a direct appeal to the community. The brother of the victim has issued a plea for anyone with information on the identity of the suspect to come forward.

“We just want justice for my brother,” the victim’s brother said in a statement. “This was a senseless, brutal attack. Someone knows who this person is, and we need them to do the right thing and contact the police.”
