BRANDON, Fla.- The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has launched a homicide investigation after a man was found dead in a Brandon home on Monday evening.
Deputies were dispatched to the 1800 block of Lake Chapman Drive at 5:43 p.m. on March 9, 2026, following a 911 call reporting a disturbance. Upon entering the residence, law enforcement located an adult male deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.
According to investigators, the shooting took place after an altercation occurred inside the home. The Sheriff’s Office stated that all individuals involved in the incident have been identified and located.
At this time, no arrests have been made, and no charges have been filed. Officials have not released the names of those involved or the specific circumstances leading up to the dispute.
“This remains an active investigation,” the Sheriff’s Office confirmed in a statement. Updates are expected as detectives continue to process evidence from the scene.
