Investigators have clarified that this was not a random act of violence. According to a statement from the Sheriff’s Office, “preliminary information indicates that the stabbing was between known parties.” Because the individuals involved were acquainted, officials are treating the case as a domestic or targeted dispute rather than a spree.
The suspect managed to leave the area before deputies could secure the perimeter. As of Saturday afternoon, “PSO deputies continue to look for the suspect,” though no physical description has been released to the public yet. Despite the suspect being at large, the Sheriff’s Office is working to calm local nerves, stating that “this appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no known public safety threat.”
Detectives remain on the scene collecting evidence and interviewing potential witnesses to piece together what led to the altercation.
For now, the investigation remains ongoing, and no additional information is available at this time.
