On NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Sunday, Maryland Governor Wes Moore addressed speculation about his political future, definitively stating that he is not running for president. The exchange with host Kristen Welker saw the governor repeatedly asked about a potential presidential bid, to which he gave a firm and consistent “no.”
“I’m not running for president,” Governor Moore stated, further clarifying, “I’m so excited about what we’re doing.”

The governor highlighted his administration’s accomplishments in Maryland as the reason for his focus on his current role. He noted the state’s significant drop in unemployment, now among the lowest in the nation, and one of the fastest declines in violent crime. He also mentioned a growing population as evidence of the state’s positive trajectory.
When asked if he would commit to serving a full term if he runs for and wins reelection, Governor Moore confirmed he would, signaling his commitment to the people of Maryland.
“I’m excited about reelection. I’m excited about what I’m going to be able to do for the people of Maryland,” he said.

The governor concluded by emphasizing his dedication to his current position, expressing his eagerness to “go back in front of the people of my state and asking for another term.”
