A Glen Burnie man has been sentenced to federal prison for his involvement in a multi-state dogfighting conspiracy. Mario Damon Flythe, 50, received a six-month prison sentence, followed by six months of home detention and three years of supervised release. He was also ordered to pay a $10,000 fine and forfeit $2,800.
Flythe was linked to the same dogfighting organization as co-defendant Frederick Douglass Moorfield Jr., operating under the name “Razor Sharp Kennels.” For several years, Flythe used his residence to house, train, and breed dogs for fighting purposes.

An investigation revealed extensive communication on Flythe’s cellphone regarding dogfighting activities. He utilized messaging platforms like WhatsApp and Telegram to connect with a group known as the “DMV Board.” Messages detailed arranging fights and wagers, discussing breeding and training techniques, acquiring supplies, and even speculating about law enforcement actions.
Flythe actively participated in organizing fights, matching his dogs with opponents based on weight and sex. He also implemented rigorous training regimens, using treadmills, weighted collars, specialized diets, and steroids obtained through his network. The fights continued until a dog died or its owner forfeited.

Financial records showed that Flythe received payments via CashApp related to dogfighting between 2019 and 2023. A search of his home in September 2023 uncovered seven pit bull-type dogs, with Flythe admitting they were bred and trained for fighting.
U.S. Attorney Erek L. Barron commended the collaborative efforts of multiple agencies, including the FBI, USDA Office of Inspector General, Defense Criminal Investigative Service, U.S. Marshals Service, and local authorities, in bringing Flythe to justice.
