POLK COUNTY, Fla. – Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd served up more than just justice during his morning briefing on Tuesday—he dished out a side of ridicule for a career criminal he dubbed a “McMope.”

Between sips of coffee, the Sheriff introduced the public to 48-year-old Robert Snipes, a man whose rap sheet is apparently longer than a drive-thru receipt. With 31 prior misdemeanor convictions to his name, Snipes found himself back in the crosshairs of the law after an opportunistic theft at a local McDonald’s.

According to Judd, Snipes didn’t order a Big Mac; he ordered himself a felony.

While a patron was busy ordering food, Snipes allegedly swiped the man’s backpack. But he didn’t make off with cash or electronics. Inside the stolen bag was roughly $150 worth of what Judd called “liquid gold”—baby formula, along with diapers and wipes.

“He goes into McDonald’s ’cause he’s a McMope,” Judd deadpanned to the camera. “And then he takes a McBackpack.”

Detectives tracked down Snipes and booked him into the county jail, a place Judd noted is decidedly lacking in nursery amenities.

“There’s no baby formula, no diapers, or no baby wipes in the county jail,” the Sheriff quipped, delivering his signature closing burn. “There is pretty crusty, cheap toilet paper if he needs any of that.”

Snipes is now held on the new charges, adding yet another entry to his extensive criminal resume.
