Media Increasingly Throwing Biden Under Electric School Buses The VP Loves So Much

If you haven’t noticed, the media are increasingly throwing President Joe Biden under one of those electric school buses the veep loves so much.

More and more in recent days, the “fact-checkers” in the mainstream media have begun calling Biden out for his lies and other obvious misstatements. It appears, if the Democrats get trounced on Election Day as many analysts predict, the media is making a pre-emptive strike on Biden’s re-election plans.

For example, the case against Biden began subtly a month ago, when The New York Times somewhat sheepishly admitted Biden is a serial liar.

“Biden, Storyteller in Chief, Spins Yarns That Often Unravel,” the Times headline said on Oct. 11, with a subheadline that read, “President Biden has been unable to break himself of the habit of embellishing narratives to weave a political identity.”

Since Oct. 24, CNN has caught Biden in lies at least four times.

Since then, for instance, the network has told its website’s visitors that the president “falsely claims” he got the student loan bailout past Congress, and that he “falsely claims” gas was $5 a gallon when he took office. Biden’s White House last week also “deletes misleading tweet” about the extensive bump in Social Security payments, CNN noted, and that Biden’s midterms message includes false and misleading claims.”

On Monday, Glenn Kessler, the chief “fact-checker” for The Washington Post, picked up on that letter claim and issued Biden a “Bottomless Pinocchio” for his recent campaign-trail rhetoric.

Biden’s lies were so unavoidable, Kessler explained, that the Post made an exception to its policy by giving him one massive “Pinocchio” for the plethora of falsehoods he’s told recently.

The roundup of canards included:

  • Biden claiming he has traveled “17,000 miles” with Chinese dictator Xi Jinping
  • The $5 gas claim
  • The reason for the increase in Social Security payments
  • The student loan nonvote

Kessler also explained Biden’s new rating.

“Readers may recall that during Donald Trump’s presidency, we established a new category, the Bottomless Pinocchio, to account for false or misleading statements repeated so often that they became a form of propaganda,” he wrote.

“A statement would get added to the list if it had earned a Three or Four Pinocchios rating and been repeated at least 20 times. By the end of the Trump presidency, 56 claims made by Trump had qualified.”

“Now Biden has earned his own Bottomless Pinocchio.”

While some conservatives may see this as progress, the sad part is that the media got on board with “fact-checking” this renowned and unrepentant liar 22 months into Biden’s presidency.

Imagine how they could have helped Americans understand the political landscape if they had been honest from the beginning.
