A Miami man was issued a citation early Sunday morning for possession of an undersized barracuda in the Lower Florida Keys.
Marlon Bladimir Sagastume, 58, of Miami, Florida, was given a mandatory notice to appear in court after being found with two barracuda that did not meet legal size requirements.

Deputy Ross Hughes was on patrol near Mile Marker 8 on U.S. 1 at approximately 5:25 a.m. on Sunday when he observed Sagastume in possession of the undersized fish. Following standard procedure, Deputy Hughes issued Sagastume a citation for the violation.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office reminds all anglers of the importance of adhering to Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) regulations, including size and bag limits for all species. These regulations are in place to ensure the sustainability of marine life and the health of Florida’s ecosystems. Ignorance of the law is not a defense.
