A Michigan businessman has been convicted of failing to pay employment taxes and failing to file his own individual income tax returns.
Dale Thrush, owner and operator of several automotive repair shops and a gas station in Farwell, was found guilty by a federal jury on Wednesday.
According to court documents and evidence presented at trial, Thrush withheld Social Security, Medicare, and income taxes from his employees’ wages between 2014 and 2016 but did not pay the full amount to the IRS.

Furthermore, Thrush failed to file his own individual income tax returns for the years 2013 through 2016.
The jury convicted Thrush on three counts of willful failure to pay payroll taxes and four counts of willful failure to file individual income tax returns. He was acquitted on seven other counts of willful failure to pay payroll taxes.
