With Christmas just two days away, a Michigan woman is desperately seeking answers in the disappearance of her mother, Sharon Marie Cleaveland, who vanished from Daytona Beach three months ago.

57-year-old Cleaveland was last seen on September 18th at her residence at 1105 Hillcrest Drive, according to the Daytona Beach Police Department. Her daughter, Noel Foraker, has been tirelessly searching for her mother, who she affectionately calls the “cat lady” due to her love for the numerous felines she cares for in her neighborhood.

Foraker told WESH, an NBC affiliate, that she last spoke to her mother just two days before she disappeared. A woman who helps Cleaveland called Foraker, alarmed after not seeing her for 24 hours. This prompted the search for the missing woman.

Cleaveland’s car, a 2012 Nissan Altima, was last spotted at a Walmart on Polynesian Isle Boulevard and 535 shortly after 10:30 a.m. local time on September 19th. “Walmart has video of her car there and a gentleman in the car,” Foraker explained. “My mom, unfortunately, was not seen in the car.” This detail adds another layer of mystery to Cleaveland’s disappearance.

Foraker emphasized that her mother requires daily medication and that her sudden disappearance is completely out of character.

“It’s been a long three months, and I just [want] some answers,” Foraker expressed.

Foraker expressed frustration with the initial lack of communication from the police department, but acknowledged an apology from Daytona Beach Police Chief Jakari Young for the delayed response. Chief Young admitted that the previous detective assigned to the case could have communicated better with both the family and police superiors.

“I did appreciate the apology. I am still upset that three months went by,” Foraker said.

Police have recently dedicated more resources to the search for Cleaveland.

“I just really want the community to help me find answers to bring her home,” Foraker pleaded. “I just can’t get over it’s been three months, and she hasn’t come home, and somebody knows something.”
