A drone strike hit the grounds of the U.S. consulate in Dubai on Tuesday, causing a fire in a parking lot adjacent to the chancellery building. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed that all diplomatic personnel are safe and accounted for following the incident.

While investigations are ongoing, sources say the attack is suspected to have originated from Iran.

The strike in Dubai follows the recent closure of U.S. embassies in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Lebanon. The State Department has issued urgent warnings for American citizens to evacuate several countries across the region as security conditions deteriorate.

In Washington, President Donald Trump announced a new wave of military action, stating that the majority of Iran’s military installations have now been “knocked out.”

He noted that today’s strikes specifically targeted members of the Iranian leadership. Simultaneously, Israeli forces targeted a compound in the city of Qom.

According to an Israeli source, the facility belonged to the Assembly of Experts, the body responsible for electing Iran’s next supreme leader.

The human cost of the campaign continues to rise. The semi-official Tasnim news agency, citing reports from the Iranian Red Crescent, stated that at least 780 people have been killed by U.S. and Israeli bombing across Iran since the start of the operation.

Global markets are reacting sharply to the instability. Gasoline prices in the United States saw their largest one-day increase since 2005 as shipping vessels effectively halted movement through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical chokepoint for global energy supplies.

As oil prices continue to climb, major stock indices reported significant losses during Tuesday’s trading session.
