Midnight Break-In And Gunshots Lead To Attempted Murder Charges For Ohio Woman

An Ohio woman remains behind bars after allegedly breaking into her ex-husband’s home in the middle of the night and firing a handgun.

Amanda Heller, 31, was arrested on May 21 following the April 26 incident. According to a criminal complaint filed in Bryan Municipal Court, Heller entered the residence while her ex-husband was asleep, threatened to kill him, and fired two rounds from a handgun inside the house.

Local WTOL confirmed the homeowner was Heller’s ex-husband. Court documents did not report any injuries, and no one else was inside the home during the incident.

Heller was initially charged with felonious assault. After the case was transferred to the Williams County Court of Common Pleas, a grand jury indicted her on charges of attempted aggravated murder, aggravated burglary, domestic violence, and improperly discharging a weapon into a habitation.

Online jail records show Heller is being held at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio. Her bond has been set at $100,000, with a court order prohibiting any contact with her ex-husband if she is released. Heller is scheduled to appear in court next on June 22.
