Midnight Clearwater Scooter Chase Ends In Felony Arrest After Grove Street Car Break-ins

CLEARWATER, Fla. – Clearwater Police arrested 22-year-old Christian Lee early Monday morning following a series of vehicle burglaries in the 1200 block of Grove Street. Lee is charged with armed burglary and resisting arrest without violence.

The incident began just after 3 a.m. when a local resident witnessed a man breaking into several cars and called authorities. The witness provided a description of the suspect and noted he was using a scooter to move through the neighborhood.

Responding officers spotted Lee in the immediate area. After a brief pursuit that involved the suspect fleeing on the scooter and then continuing on foot, officers took him into custody. Upon his arrest, police recovered a handgun from his possession.

Lee was transported to the Pinellas County Jail. The investigation into the scope of the burglaries remains ongoing.
