Minnesota Rep. Omar Slams Trump SOTU Address As ‘Full of Lies’ And ‘BS’ Ahead Of Speech

Minnesota Representative Ilhan Omar delivered a scathing pre-buttal to President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address on Tuesday, accusing the administration of driving the country toward “economic ruin” and engaging in a “federal occupation” of minority communities.

Speaking alongside fellow Minnesota Democrats, Omar dismissed the President’s anticipated remarks on national prosperity as “BS,” claiming they would be nothing more than a collection of falsehoods designed to mask a nation on “life support.”

The Congresswoman’s remarks focused heavily on the domestic impact of recent federal law enforcement actions.

She specifically pointed to “Operation Metro Surge,” an immigration and security initiative she characterized as a coordinated effort to “terrorize” black, brown, and Muslim neighborhoods.

Omar highlighted the deaths of two of her constituents, Renee Good and Alex Pretti, during federal operations, demanding an investigation into their deaths and accusing the Department of Justice of obstructing accountability for the officers involved.

Turning to the economy, Omar challenged the narrative of a thriving America, citing “unlawful tariffs” and “sky-high prices” as the primary drivers of financial hardship for families.

She further alleged that the President has used his office to funnel billions into his family businesses while neglecting the needs of Americans struggling with healthcare costs and rent.

Omar also touched on the Epstein files, accusing the administration of a cover-up and criticizing the FBI director for traveling on the taxpayer’s dime while prosecutions remain stalled.

Despite her harsh criticism of the federal government, Omar praised the “resilience and resistance” of her home state. She described a community that has organized to protect itself against what she termed “authoritarianism,” asserting that Minnesotans have met “violence with love.”

As the President prepares to take the podium tonight to outline his vision for the country, Omar’s defiant stance signals a deeply divided Capitol, where the two parties remain fundamentally at odds over the actual state of the union.
