SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. – A tractor-trailer carrying sausage and sauce overturned on Florida’s Turnpike near milepost 307, south of the I-75 junction, causing significant traffic delays on Thursday evening.
The accident occurred at 6:20 p.m. when the truck experienced a tire blowout, according to Florida Highway Patrol. The driver lost control and collided with a guardrail before overturning.

The overturned vehicle and its spilled cargo blocked multiple southbound lanes, prompting authorities to close portions of the Turnpike. Fortunately, the 47-year-old driver from Minnesota escaped unharmed.
The roadway was partially shut down until about 3:00 am on Saturday.
