Mississippi ‘Vice Lords’ Gang Member Sentenced For Firearms Possession

Desmond Robinson, a 28-year-old Yazoo City, Mississippi, resident and member of the Vice Lords street gang, has been sentenced to 46 months in federal prison for possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.

Yazoo City Police officers discovered Robinson in possession of a stolen 9mm handgun during a traffic stop on December 11, 2023. His prior aggravated assault conviction in Yazoo County Circuit Court prohibited him from owning a firearm.

Robinson pleaded guilty to the charge on May 30, 2024. U.S. Attorney Todd W. Gee and FBI Special Agent in Charge Robert A. Eikhoff announced the sentencing.

The case was investigated by the Yazoo City Police Department and the FBI, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Samuel Goff handling the prosecution.
