HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. – A 49-year-old Missouri man died Monday afternoon following a two-vehicle collision on US-301 in Hernando County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:20 p.m. on May 18, 2026. State troopers reported that the Missouri man was riding a Honda motorcycle northbound on US-301. Near Knoxville Drive, a Nissan Murano exited a private driveway and turned left directly into the path of the oncoming motorcycle, resulting in a collision.
The impact caused fatal injuries to the motorcycle rider, who was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

The driver of the Nissan, identified as a 22-year-old woman from Webster, Florida, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Emergency medical services transported her to a local hospital for treatment.
The Florida Highway Patrol has not released the names of either individual involved as the investigation into the crash continues.
