A former Missouri high school teacher, Hailey Clifton-Carmack, 26, is facing the prospect of years in prison after pleading guilty to felony sexual contact with a 16-year-old student. The disturbing case involves allegations of Clifton-Carmack using other students as lookouts during her encounters with the victim.
Clifton-Carmack, a math teacher at Laquey High School, admitted to the charge last Friday, September 6th. The plea deal led to the dismissal of other charges including statutory rape, child molestation, and endangering the welfare of a child.
The shocking revelations came to light in December 2023, when a student witness reported the inappropriate relationship to authorities. The witness even showed police a photo of scratches on the victim’s back, allegedly inflicted by Clifton-Carmack during one of their encounters.
The investigation further revealed that Clifton-Carmack had used other students as lookouts, adding another layer of concern to the case. She was arrested in January 2024 and extradited to Missouri to face charges.

While Clifton-Carmack awaits sentencing, scheduled for October 11th, she remains under house arrest. The guilty plea could land her in prison for up to four years under Missouri’s Sex Offender Assessment Program.
