President Joe Biden claimed Friday that good economic news would give Democrats a boost in the midterm elections, despite bad inflation and GDP figures.

Classified documents just keep turning up at President Joe Biden’s house.

Federal investigators, who initially resisted getting involved in the deepening scandal involving Biden’s mishandling of classified materials, combed through his house for 13 hours on Friday.

They found a half-dozen documents with classified markings, some dating back to Biden’s time in the U.S. Senate, which ended when he became vice president in January 2009.

This is at least the fifth occasion when Biden’s lawyers or representatives uncovered classified materials from his pre-presidential days.

The arrival of the FBI signals the investigation is intensifying.

As The Washington Times noted on Saturday, “The previous searches were carried out by Mr. Biden’s attorneys. On Friday, the Justice Department conducted the search of Mr. Biden’s house at the invitation of his legal team.”

“It is the first publicly known search for sensitive government documents conducted by federal law enforcement authorities at Mr. Biden’s private addresses. The search also marks a major escalation of the Justice Department’s investigation into the potentially illegal mishandling of government documents.”

As The Free Press has reported, the first batch was found at the Penn Biden Center in Washington, a think tank sponsored in part by the University of Pennsylvania. Those were found on Nov. 2, just before Election Day, and just after a special counsel was appointed to investigate whether former President Donald Trump mishandled sensitive government records.

The discovery of those documents, while immediately known by Biden, was not disclosed until CBS News reported on it earlier this month.

Since then, Biden’s lawyers, and now FBI agents, have found documents at Biden’s Delaware home on Dec. 20 and three times this month.

U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida suggested last week that Biden may be targeted by a Deep State operation that wants to upend his 2024 re-election bid. “Maybe the Deep State and a lot of these Democrats have figured out that they’d rather roll with [California Gov.] Gavin Newsom than Joe Biden,” Gaetz tweeted on Thursday. “The Republicans might not even have to help the Democrats take out their trash!”

Gaetz furthered that assessment with a tweet on Saturday of a New York Times story about Biden’s chief of staff, Ron Klain, soon leaving his post.

“This is the key tell that what I said last week is likely true,” Gaetz said. “The Deep State is taking out Biden.”

And, it seems, more Democrats, realizing a defense of Biden makes them look like hypocrites after their criticism of former President Donald Trump’s handling of classified records, are openly criticizing Biden.

Democratic Sens. Chris Coons, Joe Manchin, and Tim Kaine have said an investigation into Biden’s actions is appropriate, while Sen. Dick Durbin has admitted Biden has “lost the high ground” in being critical of Trump.
