More Media Deception, This Time On Climate Change Effects

In February The Free Press reported on a public opinion poll that showed the vile, anti-factual influence of the liberal media.

The survey, taken by the Skeptics Society, analyzed thinking about police shootings. The Skeptics asked two questions: “If you had to guess, how many unarmed Black men were killed by police in 2019?” And, “If you had to guess, in 2019 what percentage of people killed by police were Black?”

The correct answers, according to The Washington Post, are 13 and 24.9 percent.

Yet on the first question, 53 percent of the group that characterized themselves as “very liberal,” and 39 percent of those who self-identified as ”liberal,” pegged the number of shooting deaths of blacks at 1,000 or more. On the second query, those groups answered 60 percent and 56 percent respectively.

Well, now comes right-leaning pollster Rasmussen Reports and The Heartland Institute, a conservative think tank, with similar findings about climate change.

“Most viewers of MSNBC and CNN believe climate change could doom mankind to extinction within 100 years, and viewers of those networks are also likely to overestimate the amount of global warming that has already occurred,” the groups reported in announcing the results on Thursday.

Further, they added, “54% of likely U.S. voters who say MSNBC is their favorite cable news outlet, and 53% of those who say CNN is their favorite, believe if global carbon-dioxide emissions continue to increase at a rate comparable to what occurred during the past decade, humans would become completely or nearly extinct within 100 years due to climate change.”

“By contrast, only 25% of Fox News viewers believe climate change could make humans extinct within 100 years,” they noted.

“When it comes to the amount of global warming that has already happened,” the groups added, “the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says the Earth’s average surface temperature has increased by about 2.1°F (1.2°C) since the late 1800s.”

Yet “68% of MSNBC viewers and 65% of CNN viewers believe global temperature has increased three degrees or more since the late 1800s,” the poll found.

Those rates nearly doubled the ratio of Fox viewers in that category.

“There is a strong correlation between a likely voter’s favorite television news outlet and his or her understanding of basic facts about climate change,” the Heartland Institute’s Justin Haskins observed in a statement.

“Respondents who don’t watch cable news and viewers of Fox News or ‘another’ outlet (such as The Blaze TV or Newsmax) were more likely to correctly estimate the amount of warming that has occurred since the late 1800s. More than four in 10 of the respondents in these three categories answered correctly, compared to about three in 10 viewers of CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, and NBC.”

According to NASA, the United Nations’ climate experts predict a 2.5-degree Fahrenheit increase by the end of the century on the low end. Which is slightly more than what NOAA says has happened on Earth since the late 1800s to now.

Business Insider reported in 2019 that even if Earth’s temperature increases by more than 3 degrees Celsius, “Oceans would be an average of 3 feet higher by the year 2100. Those rising seas would displace 680 million people in low-lying coastal zones, along with 65 million citizens of small island states.”

In other words, people would be forced to relocate away from the seas. But mankind definitely would not be extinct, as more than half of MSNBC and CNN viewers believe.

Tell us again which network is most responsible for spreading the lies.
