LAND O’ LAKES, Fla. – A Land O’ Lakes family escaped a residential fire early Monday morning after an electrical malfunction broke out in their garage. Pasco County Fire Rescue arrived at the 7000 block of Wild Oak Lane shortly after 6:30 a.m. to find flames and heavy smoke already visible from the exterior of the house.

Emergency crews acted quickly to establish a perimeter and attack the blaze. According to department officials, every person inside the home managed to get out before the fire spread further into the living quarters. Firefighters brought the situation under control quickly, preventing the flames from spreading to neighboring properties.

After the scene was cleared and the smoke subsided, fire investigators conducted a walkthrough of the charred garage. They eventually traced the cause back to a specific electrical outlet. The official report confirms that a mechanical failure within the outlet triggered the spark that started the fire.

The department reported no injuries to the residents or the first responders on the scene. While the garage sustained significant damage, the quick response from local crews was credited with keeping the rest of the structure intact and ensuring the safety of the neighborhood.
