ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – St. Petersburg detectives arrested a local man this morning following a tip regarding illegal online activity. Lucas Jose Herraiz, 42, is now in police custody and faces accusations involving child sexual abuse material.
The investigation began after the police department received information from the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. This program focuses on tracking down predators and illegal content on the web.
According to the police report, investigators determined that Herraiz had downloaded multiple videos depicting the sexual abuse of children.

Acting on this evidence, detectives obtained warrants to search both Herraiz’s home and his place of business. During the raid at his residence, officers seized two electronic devices. These items are being held as part of the ongoing investigation.
Herraiz was arrested and charged with 18 counts of possession of child pornography. These charges are classified as second-degree felonies. He was processed and booked shortly after the arrest.
