TAMPA, Fla. – Deputies with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office arrested two men late Saturday night after a stolen vehicle investigation at a Tampa motel turned up illegal drugs.
Casey Cregan, 39, and Ryan Gould, 46, were taken into custody following the incident in the Fowler Avenue area.
Detectives were first alerted to a stolen vehicle in the vicinity at around 11:18 p.m. on August 1. Shortly after receiving the alert, investigators spotted the vehicle parked at the West Wing Motel.
While monitoring the scene, detectives observed Cregan enter and exit the stolen vehicle. He then walked over to another vehicle parked nearby and got into the passenger seat.
Deputies moved in and made contact with the occupants of the second vehicle, identifying Gould as the driver. The resulting investigation led to the recovery of illegal narcotics from the scene.
Cregan is charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle alongside multiple drug-related offenses. Gould faces narcotics charges, including drug trafficking. Both men were booked following the arrests.
