A mother was arrested Tuesday on a charge of child neglect without great bodily harm in connection with the disappearance of her 10-year-old daughter, Gabrielle Terrelong.
Authorities say Gabrielle has been missing since June, prompting a desperate, multi-agency search that includes the FBI.
Passha Davis, 34, appeared in Broward bond court on Wednesday and is currently being held on a $100,000 bond, according to WPLG-TV. Investigators have stated that Davis has provided no information regarding Gabrielle’s location, making the search more challenging.
The Timeline and Investigation
Authorities believe Gabrielle was last seen on June 21, leaving a Walmart in Margate. However, she was not officially reported missing until October 29 by her father.
According to the arrest report, Davis is described as homeless and suffers from mental health and substance abuse issues. When questioned by police, Davis claimed she did not know where her daughter was and suggested Gabrielle was with her father, a claim investigators say is untrue.
Gabrielle is described as a Black female, approximately 4-foot-8, weighing 90–100 pounds, with shoulder-length black hair and a thin build. Authorities noted she is known to travel between Central and South Florida with family members.
Authorities are urging anyone with information on Gabrielle Terrelong’s whereabouts to immediately contact the Margate Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division at 954-972-7111 or the FBI at 800-CALL-FBI.
