Mother Of Ryan Allen, Who Was Killed By Hit And Run Driver In Weeki Wachee, Needs Your Help

HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. – The mother of Spring Hill resident, 32-year-old Ryan Allen, has setup a gofundme fundraiser to help with expenses in the tragic and senseless death of her son.

On Sunday at approximately 12:10 AM, a red 1995 Mazda MX-6, was traveling westbound on Cortez Boulevard approaching the intersection of Steuben Street where a 32-year-old Spring Hill man was walking within the roadway.

The car collided with the pedestrian and the driver, Joseph Charles Strickland, 28, of Weeki Wachee, traveled with the remains of the victim to the back of Dixie Lee Bait shop, located at 6408 Evanston Street in Spring Hill.

Strickland then removed the victim’s remains from the vehicle.

“My son, Ryan Allen, was killed just after 12 a.m. on June 6, 2021 by a hit and run driver who was a fugitive from Minnesota for almost the same thing,” said Ryan’s Mom.

Ryan’s mother said on the GoFundMe, “The man who hit my son had absolutely no remorse for what he had to son as he loaded Ryan’s body in his car and took Ryan’s body to a bait and tackle shop and dumped his body while not know that my sons leg was still at the scene of the incident. This man never called the police. Instead he called friends telling them he hit a deer and needed help to get his car pushed. When he arrived home he washed his car, spray painted the damage, took a shower and went to bed. This man’s roommate inspected the damage that morning to find that it was not a deer it was a person his roommate hit and called the police. The cadaver dogs were brought in. The dogs found my sons leg first then his body.”

As of this writing, the campaign has raised just over $3,000 . To donate to this gofundme, you can click here to be redirected to the page.
